World class views and breathtaking sunsets across Morecambe Bay to the Lake District has always been Morecambe's special feature. The Bay (famous for its 'Cross Bay Walks') is an important breeding ground for thousands of migratory birds. The Bay's wildlife is also the inspiration for award-winning public art known as The Tern Project . This has enriched Morecambe's five mile stretch of level promenade (and the extended Stone Jetty) with innovative sculptures and pavement games such as magpie hopscotch.
